INFOGRAPHS · DECISION RULE

Connector, current, phases and length must fit at the same time.

Read the process from left to right. Each step must be resolved before turning the choice into a purchase.

Read the data set

Confirm connectors at both ends, nominal current, number of phases, length, declared IP grade and certifications indicated by the manufacturer.

Monophasic or triphasic

A 32 A monofasic cable can be announced up to 7.4 kW. A 32 A triphasic cable can be announced up to 22 kW. The actual power is always limited by the point and the internal vehicle charger.

Length versus management

More length offers margin, but increases volume and weight. It measures the position of the car port and the usual route before choosing.

Direct cable or extension

A Type 2 lengthening machine is not equivalent to a direct Mode 3 cable. Before using it, check that the manufacturer of the point, vehicle and extension itself allows that configuration. Do not chain extensions or leave a coupling in an exposed or passing area.

PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION

Read the label as a chain

A cable with a higher announced power does not force the point or the car to use it. First, it identifies if you need monophasic or triphasic and the maximum current that will allow the intended use.

The length must cover the path without tension, but also be able to keep and handle with comfort. It avoids basing the choice only on a generic list of compatible models: check the vehicle and point connector.
